Twirly, girly skirt

I made this skirt for my English cousin's sweet little daughter who is nearly one. I designed this skirt a while back and have made quite a few on a similar theme, but each is a little different - to keep things interesting for the sewist ;) This one has a double layered circle skirt with tulle trim and flower brooches. The skirt is made from velvet knit and the waistband is stretchy, which is useful when you don't quite know the size required, or if the child is growing quickly!

This is my go to skirt when I need a present for a little girl. I also have some for sale in my Etsy shop.

I'm just looking forward to a photo of my little cousin once removed (I had to google that one!) wearing this skirt. She is such a sweetie.

I have been working on a new design and here it is! The 'Buttons of blue' outfit is now available for sale in my Etsy shop. Currently available in size 3-4. More sizes coming soon! I am happy to take requests for sizes, but I have limited fabric available so get in quick.
 

Robot picture

I have been working on this embossed robot picture for a boy's room. It has already got the stamp of approval from my two boys.

The sewer's or quilter's brooch.

'La vie est belle' (Life is beautiful) stamped pendant with crystal and metal charms.

'Imagine Create' stamped pendant with crystal and metal charms and hanging chain detail.

The last two pictures are taken on my ornamental grape vine. I am so excited about all the tiny grapes starting to grow - they are the tiny pale green spiky things. I wonder if we will have our first crop this year.

Raspberry velvet

Part of the Meggipeg winter range, this skirt is made from stretch crushed velvet with a tulle-edged underskirt. It features a rollover waistband and three flower brooches made from velvet and tulle. This particular skirt was made for a prize in the Mother's Day raffle at my son's kindergarten. I am planning to make one or two more for general sale.

Sweetheart Dress - SOLD

This dress has a stretchy top with gather detail at the neckline and a layered skirt in chiffon with heart print. The top has an applique ruffle heart in the chiffon. This is a 'one-off design. Size 4-5. Not Available. Donated to 'Handmade for Christchurch'. RRP AU$60.

Silver fairy skirt

This is a custom design for a friend. It has a silver skirt with a pink tulle underlay and a fold-over cotton spandex waistband (grows with your child). It is decorated with pink tulle flowers. The largest flower (pictured) is a brooch which can be pinned anywhere. This is a 'one-off design. No longer available. Please contact me if you would like something similar.

Orange blossom

This skirt has a satiny orange floral skirt with a green soft tulle underlay and a fold-over cotton spandex waistband (grows with your child). The matching t-shirt has orange applique flowers. This is a 'one-off design. Size 2-3. Available. Price AU$60.
